KNOWLEDGE AND TASKS OF THE SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

consulente aziendale nel settore della sistemistica informaticA

A system administrator is a specialist who has gained vast and in-depth knowledge of the tools, technologies and issues concerning tool operation. He is able to create, administer and keep functional, single or groups of systems characterized by synergies between different software. From hardware sizing in terms of computing power, information storage capacity and scalability to sustain the estimated increase in needs, software synergy considers interaction in terms of operating logic, logic applied to the use of resources and the impact of stability of single environments, created by one or more physical hardware units, on which different systems and applications reside, which depend on and interact with each other.

Image description Maintaining an efficient level of service depends on the ability to combine the tools in a harmonious and balanced way. Implementation projects consider both the current reality and a range of future developments, which can lead to a controlled growth of the software of the original project, or to the addition and interfacing of new operating software with that already present.

The goal can only be achieved thanks to a specialist who is able to combine them not within the view of the single piece of software, but of its interaction with the entire system. This is done on the strength of in-depth knowledge of the tools. The operational impact is magnified in complex environments where there are more machines present which must follow the principles set out above. Consequently, all the I.T. equipment usually present inside the company is required for proper functioning; from public connectivity and Outsourcing services (services assigned to third parties), passing through internal server systems, cabled networks, and relevant interconnection equipment, to the management of client workstations.

In a purely figurative manner, the system administrator could be seen as the coordinator of tool and resource synergy, to maximize the result at the minimum cost.

A fundamental aspect is the anticipation of problems, related to the end-users (client) and to the shutting down of interconnection or key equipment. Here too, the structural design and its maintenance are essential to adopting all the redundancy policies designed to minimize downtime.
